IT Sales Person

Working for an IT services company based in West Sussex.  You will join a small but rapidly expanding company who supply a range of IT services to business customers and to the Education market place.  The company supplies IT Services such as repair, maintenance, help desk, technical support, cabling, networking and IT infrastructure design.   The company have big plans and want to bring in a dedicated sales person to take ownership of the sales process.  Reporting to the MD on a weekly basis, you will be responsible for contacting companies in the UK, identifying decision makers, establishing service requirements and working to develop long term business relationships.

Purpose of Job

To ensure clients receive the very best in terms of service levels through both internal account management and procedural efficiency.

Responsibilities

To ensure all clients SLA's are upheld.  To perform office based procedures such as mailing contracts and running reports to support the licensing team.  Manage workload in relation to aligned sales people to ensure deadlines are met & customer expectations are met / exceeded.  To ensure all customers are in receipt of the necessary tools in a timely fashion..  Generation of incremental business oportunitites through strong customer relationships.

Individual Duties / Tasks

Regular liaison with the relevant personnel within our customers' organisation - specifically at purchasing level - and build relationships on a day to dat basis.  Regular liaison with internal customers including Purchasing, Accounts and Specialists.  To ensure all price lists and back order reports are distrubuted in advance of their effective date.  Provide, track and follow up on all software quotations.  To ensure all orders and order queries are processed in accordance with the Operations team procedures.  To advise customers on licensing procedures.  To take responsibility for all basic customer queries as well as escalating more complex queries when the relevant sales personnel are out of the office to ensure a timely resolution.  Provide out of office cover for aligned sales people and other members of your team.  Compile and distribute monthly license statements where required.  Attend customer review meetings and perform anOperational health check on a regular basis.  Complete MS Operational tasks such as logging CLT's, pre-warning customers of scheduled billings and supplying monthly customised usage reports.  Month end clear up - ensure all possible outstanding orders are invoiced off at the end of each month.  Help monitor non contractual renewals due such as NAI, Symantec, etc.  Training customers on MVLS and management of MVLS and benefits.  Distribute and follow up on all databse alerts such as compliance and agreement expiry notifications.

                                   Technical Sales Manager

 

Accountable to:      Managing Director

 

Responsible for:     To develop sales and marketing of building grid connected solar PV systems

 

Subordinates:         None

 

Duties:

 

You are responsible to the Managing Director.

 

You will fulfil your role by:-

 

·         Formulation and Implementation of sales plans. These will include financial and non financial targets.

 

·         Visiting housing associations, local authorities, architects and developers

 

·         Adding to existing database of contacts by researching trade publications, government websites etc.

 

·         Prepare system proposal for clients to use in tender requests.

 

·         Tender evaluation and preparation of quotations.

 

·         Follow up quotation and enquires.

 

·         Keep abreast of government grants and feed in tariffs.

 

·         Keep abreast of product development.

 

·         Attend and contribute to in house sales meetings.

 

·         Write and circulate visit reports in a timely manner.

 

·         Provide recommendations on Sales Promotions and Exhibitions. Attendance at same.


Person Specification

 

 

Technical Sales Manager

  

You will have an aptitude toward electrical systems. You will and be able to understand (after induction training) the basics of PV systems and how they interface with the national grid.

 

You will have an aptitude for mechanical installation sufficient for you to appreciate the issue that may be encountered when installing large PV arrays on buildings.

 

You will enjoy presenting the concept of renewable energy to architects and consultants who may not have an understanding of how solar PV systems can help them meet the planning targets set by national and local government.

 

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

 

You will be educated to GSCE level.

 

You will be computer literate and able to use Microsoft Office products, Word, Excel and Access.

 

Good telephone manner.

 

Ability to communicate your ideas both a one-to-one basis and in presentations using appropriate demonstrations tools and presentation software (PowerPoint).

 

 PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE:

 

You will be able to demonstrate an ability to work under pressure.

 

You will be able to show proven sales experience preferably showing sales growth into new business areas.

 

You will be experienced in preparing quotations and presentations

Due to steady and progressive business growth, my client is looking to recruit 2 Sales Executives dedicated to the IT Products & Services market.

THE TEAM

THE ROLE
Developing relationships with Companies based in the South-East, working closely with other team members, sharing the common goal.
To take responsibility for the full sales life cycle:
• Identification of new prospects, using CRM system, sales leads from marketing campaigns, and other business research activities.
• Contacting Customers initially by phone, establishing key decision makers.
• Making and attending business meetings with decision makers.
• Working with the customer in consultation to establish current IT infrastructure, Hardware and Software.
• Recommending appropriate products and services.
• Negotiating and closing the sales.
• After sales service calls.
• Business Development and contract renewals.
